New MRI scan could predict pancreatic cancer outcomes

NCT ID NCT06526442

First seen Mar 02, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study explores whether a special 3D MRI scan (called MR elastography) can measure the stiffness of pancreatic tumors and surrounding scar tissue. Researchers aim to see if these measurements help predict how the cancer will respond to chemotherapy. The study involves 200 adults with pancreatic cancer who will undergo MRI scans before and during treatment.
