3D nerve maps could make Children's head and neck surgery safer

Summary

This completed study tested a new way to create 3D models of nerves in the head and neck area using MRI scans. Seven children aged 1 to 5 with tumors or birth defects took part. The goal was to help surgeons plan operations more precisely by seeing exactly where important nerves are located before surgery.
