New PET scan could spot hidden endometriosis lesions and pain triggers
NCT ID NCT07053982
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special PET scan (18F-FES PET/CT) can find endometriosis lesions more accurately than MRI. It involves 20 women with endometriosis—some with high pain, some with low or no pain. The scan measures estrogen receptor activity in lesions, which may help doctors diagnose and treat endometriosis more effectively.
