First seen Jun 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests an experimental painkiller called YZJ-4729 in people experiencing moderate to severe pain after orthopedic surgery. Participants receive either YZJ-4729, morphine, or a placebo through an IV, and researchers measure pain relief over 48 hours. The goal is to see if YZJ-4729 works well and is safe compared to standard treatments.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
YZJ-4729 tartrate injection
What this could lead to
If successful, YZJ-4729 could offer a new option for managing acute pain after surgery, potentially with fewer side effects than morphine.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase 2 trial with only 150 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not work better than existing treatments or could have unexpected side effects.
