Experimental heart drug combo begins first human safety tests

NCT ID NCT07309042

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-stage trial will test the safety of combining an experimental drug called YN001 with the statin rosuvastatin in 24 healthy Chinese adults aged 18 to 55. Participants will receive YN001 by infusion and rosuvastatin tablets over several weeks. The main goal is to see if the combination is safe and tolerable, and how the drugs interact in the body. This study does not aim to treat disease, but to gather information for future trials.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

YN001 (an experimental drug) and rosuvastatin (a statin)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that YN001 can be safely combined with statins, paving the way for future studies in people with heart or blood vessel disease.

What could go wrong

This is a very early, small trial in healthy volunteers, not patients. It only checks safety and drug levels, not whether the combination actually treats disease. Many early-stage drugs fail to show benefit later.
