Xenon gas MRI: a new way to see inside the body?

NCT ID NCT02195206

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of MRI that uses xenon gas instead of X-rays to take pictures of the lungs and brain. Healthy adults aged 18 to 75 inhaled the gas and had scans to see if the images were as good as standard MRI. The goal was to improve imaging methods, not to treat any disease.
