Summary

This study looks at 200 male FDNY rescue workers who were exposed to dust and toxins after the World Trade Center attacks. Many developed acid reflux, which can lead to Barrett's esophagus and even cancer. Researchers will use simple, noninvasive tests like saliva samples and questionnaires to find better ways to detect and understand these conditions.
