New synthetic skin patch tested for stubborn wounds

NCT ID NCT04927702

Summary

This study aimed to see if a new synthetic wound dressing (Restrata®) could help close hard-to-heal wounds better than current treatments. It compared the dressing to standard care for diabetic foot ulcers and to a living skin substitute for venous leg ulcers. The trial was terminated early and enrolled 48 participants with wounds that had not healed after a month of regular care.
