No-Needle bowel treatment for spinal cord injury shows promise in early test
NCT ID NCT06351852
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This early-phase study tested a new wireless patch that uses a tiny, painless electrical current to push bowel medications through the skin. The goal was to see if this method is safe and works as well as a wired version. Only 2 healthy volunteers took part, so the results are very early but could lead to easier, needle-free bowel care for people with spinal cord injuries.
