Oxford tests 'Smart' hospital patches to catch patient deterioration before It's too late

NCT ID NCT05118477

Summary

This study tested whether small, wireless sensors worn by hospital patients could help nurses detect health declines faster than standard checks. 240 surgical patients at Oxford University Hospitals wore devices that continuously tracked vital signs like heart rate and oxygen levels. The goal was to see if this system could reliably alert staff to problems earlier, potentially improving patient recovery.
