Scientists probe why poverty makes losing weight harder

NCT ID NCT05326477

Summary

This study aims to understand why people from lower-income backgrounds often lose less weight in standard behavioral weight loss programs compared to those with higher incomes. Researchers will enroll 230 adults with obesity and track their weight, diet, and activity over six months while measuring daily stress and decision-making patterns. The goal is to identify specific barriers to success so future programs can be better tailored to help everyone.
