First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether an 11-week WhatsApp-based education and counseling program could help new mothers feel more confident about breastfeeding, more satisfied with their bodies, and adopt healthier lifestyles. Researchers enrolled 86 postpartum women in Turkey, giving the intervention group videos and support via WhatsApp. The goal was to see if mobile health tools can improve maternal well-being after childbirth.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
WhatsApp-based education and counseling
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that simple mobile messaging programs can improve new mothers' confidence and health behaviors after childbirth.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study in one region of Turkey, so results may not apply to other populations. The intervention is behavioral, not a drug, so effects are likely modest.
