New program tackles weight and heart risks in vulnerable youth
NCT ID NCT03075306
Summary
This study tested a year-long health coaching program designed to help overweight or obese youth who are also receiving mental health treatment. The program involved a health coach who worked with both the young person and their parent to promote healthy eating and physical activity. Researchers wanted to see if this tailored approach could help lower body mass index (BMI) and reduce early signs of future heart disease in this high-risk group.
