Can surgery slash heart attack risk in obese patients?
NCT ID NCT05531474
Summary
This study is testing whether weight loss surgery is better than medication and lifestyle changes at preventing serious heart problems in people who are severely obese and already have heart disease. Researchers will compare the rates of heart attacks, strokes, and heart-related deaths between the two groups. They will also look at costs, mental health, and how the surgery affects the body's chemistry.
