New drug aims to lock in weight loss for good

Summary

This study is testing a drug called retatrutide to see if it helps people with obesity maintain weight loss after they've already lost weight. About 643 participants will first take the drug for 80 weeks to lose weight, then some will continue the drug or switch to a placebo for 36 weeks to see if the weight stays off. The main goal is to measure how well the drug helps people keep the weight from coming back.
