New hope to halt devastating weight loss in pancreatic cancer patients

NCT ID NCT03910387

Summary

This study tested if adding a drug called telotristat ethyl to standard chemotherapy could help patients with advanced pancreatic cancer stop losing weight. The goal was to see if stabilizing weight could help patients better tolerate their cancer treatment and potentially improve their quality of life. The trial involved 23 patients who had already lost a significant amount of weight due to their cancer.
