Smart sleeve zaps muscles to restore natural walking after stroke
NCT ID NCT04155866
Summary
This study tested a wearable device that delivers gentle electrical stimulation to multiple leg muscles to help chronic stroke survivors improve their walking. Researchers first measured normal muscle patterns in healthy participants, then used that information to guide month-long training sessions for stroke survivors. The goal was to see if this targeted stimulation could help restore more natural walking coordination.
