Smart ring therapy: stroke patients get a digital nudge to use their weak arm

NCT ID NCT06787729

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether wearing a ring sensor and seeing your arm activity on a smartphone app can encourage stroke survivors to use their affected arm more during everyday tasks. About 50 chronic stroke survivors (more than a year after their stroke) will wear the sensors and use the app for feedback and goal-setting. The goal is to improve arm function and reduce non-use, not to cure the stroke.
