Tiny sensor spies on knees after fluid jab
NCT ID NCT03805464
First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether a simple wearable sensor can detect changes in how the knee moves and bears weight after a small amount of fluid is injected into the joint. Fourteen healthy adults participated, and researchers compared sensor data to lab motion-capture measurements. The goal was to see if this inexpensive device could spot early signs of knee problems, like those that lead to arthritis.
