Wearable sensors show promise for detecting knee changes

NCT ID NCT03805464

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether a wearable sensor could detect changes in how the knee moves and bears weight after a temporary injection of fluid into the knee joint. Fourteen healthy adults participated, and researchers measured their walking patterns before and after the injection. The goal was to see if an inexpensive, wearable device could pick up on knee changes that might lead to arthritis.
