First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested a new method to guide doctors on when to stop giving norepinephrine, a drug that raises blood pressure, to patients who develop dangerously low blood pressure after heart surgery. The method uses a measure called dynamic arterial compliance to decide the right time to reduce the drug. The goal was to see if this approach could shorten the time patients need the medication and improve their recovery. The study involved 130 adults who had heart surgery and developed this condition.
