Summary
This study is testing if patients with a specific type of rectal cancer can safely avoid major surgery after their cancer disappears with immunotherapy. Researchers want to see if close monitoring, called 'watch and wait,' is a safe option for these patients. The goal is to help people avoid the potential side effects of surgery, like loss of bowel control or sexual function, while still controlling their cancer.
