Warm shot for eye surgery? study tests heated numbing medicine

NCT ID NCT07085481

Summary

This study tested if warming a numbing medicine (bupivacaine) before giving it for cataract surgery makes the numbing effect start faster and last longer. Researchers compared the standard room-temperature medicine to medicine warmed to body temperature in 120 patients. The goal was to see if this simple change could improve comfort and effectiveness during and after this common eye procedure.
