First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether a powered, computer-controlled prosthetic knee helps people with above-knee amputations use less energy while walking on flat and sloped surfaces compared to their usual prosthesis. Researchers will measure oxygen use, balance confidence, and perceived effort in 12 participants. The goal is to see if the powered knee improves walking efficiency and comfort.
