First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether moderate or high-intensity walking exercise is better for improving walking in people who had a stroke at least 6 months ago. About 156 participants will be randomly assigned to one of two exercise programs, each done with a physical therapist three times a week for 12 weeks. Walking ability and other measures will be tested before, during, and three months after the training.
