Can texts and tiny rewards get brain injury survivors walking more?

NCT ID NCT06222502

Summary

This study tested if simple behavioral tools could help older adults who had a past mild or moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI) become more physically active. For 12 weeks, 57 participants wore a Fitbit and received weekly phone calls. One group used planning, text/email reminders, and earned small rewards for completing walks, while a comparison group just received general health tips. The main goal was to see if these methods increased the number of planned walks completed.
