Summary
This study looked at a combination of three drugs (bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone, known as VRD) for people newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. Over 400 patients took part, and some also had a stem cell transplant. After initial treatment, patients continued on maintenance drugs to keep the cancer under control. The goal was to see how well the treatment worked and how long patients lived.
