Distraction therapy: can VR glasses make getting an IV less scary?
NCT ID NCT07241988
Summary
This study tested whether using virtual reality glasses or listening to white noise could help adults feel less pain and anxiety when getting an IV needle inserted. Researchers randomly assigned 76 adult patients to either use VR, listen to white noise, or receive standard care (the control group). They measured pain, anxiety, and satisfaction right after the procedure to see if these simple, drug-free methods could make the experience better.
