VR glasses and white noise tested to take the sting out of getting an IV

NCT ID NCT07241988

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality glasses or listening to white noise could help adults feel less pain and anxiety when getting an IV placed. Researchers randomly assigned 76 adult patients to use VR, listen to white noise, or receive standard care during the procedure. They measured pain, anxiety, and satisfaction right after to see if these simple, drug-free methods could make the experience better.
