Virtual reality game aims to trick the brain, ease debilitating nerve pain
NCT ID NCT05005026
Summary
This study is testing whether playing an immersive virtual reality walking game can reduce chronic nerve pain in adults with complete spinal cord injuries. Researchers believe the game may help by creating a visual illusion of walking, which could correct a mismatch in brain signals thought to cause pain. The trial will enroll 250 participants to see if this non-drug approach improves pain levels and quality of life.
