Virtual escapes fight depression in dialysis patients

NCT ID NCT05642364

Summary

This study is testing whether a virtual reality (VR) program can help reduce depression in people receiving dialysis treatment. Researchers are enrolling 61 dialysis patients with depression symptoms to try a 5-week VR therapy program that teaches positive psychology skills in immersive environments. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and can improve mood, quality of life, and treatment attendance compared to watching regular nature videos.
