First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at whether simple distractions like a virtual reality headset, a squishy squeeze toy, or listening to poetry can help control pain after total knee replacement surgery. 140 adults were split into four groups to try one of these methods or receive standard care. Pain levels were measured 24 hours after surgery to see which approach worked best.
