First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested three simple, drug-free ways to manage pain after knee replacement surgery: using a virtual reality headset, squeezing a soft toy, or listening to poetry. 140 adults were split into four groups to compare these methods with standard care. The main goal was to see if these distractions could lower pain scores 24 hours after surgery.
