VR goggles could replace sedation for scared kids in MRI machines
NCT ID NCT07203716
Summary
This study tests whether showing children a virtual reality (VR) tour of an MRI machine before their scan can help them feel less anxious and stay still. Researchers will compare three groups: kids who watch the VR tour at home and again at the hospital, kids who watch it only at the hospital, and kids who get the usual preparation without VR. The goal is to see if the VR experience leads to clearer scan images and reduces the need for sedation in children ages 5-10 who are getting their first MRI.
