Virtual nature trips tested to soothe minds in addiction recovery

Summary

This study is testing if using virtual reality (VR) to experience peaceful nature scenes can help reduce depression, anxiety, and stress in people who are in intensive treatment for alcohol use disorder. Researchers will enroll 50 adults with moderate depression who are starting an outpatient program. They will compare those who receive the VR sessions alongside their standard care to those who receive standard care alone.
