NCT ID NCT07518082

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will test whether using virtual reality (VR) to teach handwashing helps preschool children learn better than traditional methods. Sixty-six children aged 5-6 will be split into three groups: VR education, standard teaching, or no extra teaching. Researchers will measure their handwashing knowledge, skills, and emotional reactions before and two weeks after the lessons.

Virtual Reality-Based Handwashing Education

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that VR is a more engaging and effective way to teach young children proper handwashing, potentially reducing infections.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 66 children in one location. Results may not apply broadly, and VR might not be better than traditional teaching.
