Virtual reality offers escape from IUD procedure pain

NCT ID NCT07325695

Summary

This study tested whether wearing virtual reality (VR) glasses could help reduce pain and anxiety for women getting a copper intrauterine device (IUD) inserted. 70 women were randomly assigned to either use VR glasses during the procedure or receive standard care without VR. Researchers measured pain and anxiety levels during and after the insertion to see if the VR distraction made the experience more comfortable.
