VR goggles could replace Pre-Surgery anxiety pills
NCT ID NCT07450456
Summary
This study is testing whether using virtual reality (VR) can help patients feel less anxious before heart surgery, so they might not need as much anxiety medication. It will involve 40 adults who are scheduled for elective surgery and who have already asked for medication to calm their nerves beforehand. Researchers will compare how many patients still want medication after trying a VR experience designed to relax them.
