Virtual worlds offer escape from pain for palliative patients
NCT ID NCT07214090
Summary
This study is testing whether immersive virtual reality (VR) can help reduce pain, anxiety, and fatigue for people receiving palliative care. Forty patients will be randomly assigned to use either a fully immersive VR headset or a less immersive control headset for 10 minutes daily over one week. Researchers will measure changes in symptoms and quality of life to see if deep VR immersion provides better relief than the control approach.
