Virtual reality goggles could take the ouch out of Kids' IVs

NCT ID NCT07202468

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether watching a virtual reality (VR) video can help children aged 7 to 12 feel less pain and fear when getting an IV. About 150 kids having day surgery will be randomly placed into one of three groups: watching an aquarium video, a kaleidoscope video, or getting standard care without VR. The goal is to see if VR distraction makes the procedure easier for children.
