Virtual family visits fight ICU confusion
NCT ID NCT05525702
Summary
This study is testing whether a virtual reality system that lets family members visit can help reduce delirium in ICU patients who are on breathing machines. Researchers will give 102 patients VR headsets to block out the stressful ICU environment and connect them with family for comfort. They will measure how many days patients experience delirium, how long they need the breathing machine, and family satisfaction with care.
