Virtual reality goggles aim to ease cancer treatment distress

NCT ID NCT06985784

Summary

This study is testing whether using virtual reality (VR) headsets can help improve the mental and emotional well-being of people with head and neck cancer and their caregivers during difficult radiation or chemotherapy treatments. It will compare a more immersive 3D mindfulness program to a simpler 2D nature scene program to see which is more helpful and easier to use. The main goal is to see if patients and caregivers find the VR tools acceptable and practical, while also checking if they help reduce feelings of depression, anxiety, and pain.
