Virtual reality headsets aim to ease cancer pain

NCT ID NCT07228377

Summary

This study is testing whether using virtual reality (VR) headsets can help people with cancer manage their chronic pain. Researchers want to see if immersive, pleasant VR experiences can reduce pain and possibly lessen the need for opioid pain medications. They are recruiting 25 adults with cancer who have had moderate to severe pain for at least three months and are currently using opioids, to try a new VR program and provide feedback on its usability and effectiveness.
