VR headsets offer escape for patients during scary heart procedures

NCT ID NCT07250282

Summary

This study tested whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset during surgery could help patients feel less anxious and experience less pain. It involved 100 adults who were getting a pacemaker, defibrillator, or similar heart device implanted. Half the patients used a VR headset during the procedure, while the other half received standard care, to see which group reported lower anxiety and pain.
