First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) and music during chemotherapy sessions is practical and helpful for breast cancer patients. Sixty patients were offered VR headsets with calming music and videos while receiving chemo. The goal was to see if patients would use it and if it could reduce anxiety, pain, and nausea. Results will guide a larger future trial.

What this could lead to

If this approach works, it could offer a drug-free way to help breast cancer patients feel less anxious and more comfortable during chemotherapy.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early feasibility study with only 60 patients and no comparison group. It cannot prove the strategy actually improves quality of life—just whether it's practical to use.
