Virtual reality AI coach steps in to fight pain and opioid crisis

NCT ID NCT07124598

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a virtual reality (VR) program with an artificial intelligence (AI) coach is a practical and acceptable tool for patients. It's designed for people who have both chronic pain and issues with opioid misuse. The single 45-minute VR session includes a check-in with the AI, pain management training, and a stress reduction exercise to see if this approach is helpful and easy to use.
