Loved Ones' voices tested as medicine for ICU confusion

NCT ID NCT07218484

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether playing voice recordings from loved ones can help manage delirium (sudden, severe confusion) in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Fifteen surgical ICU patients at risk for delirium will listen to 20-25 minute recordings twice daily for three days. The main goal is to see if this approach is practical and acceptable to patients, to gather information for a larger future study.
