Scarless hysterectomy: new vaginal surgery may cut complications for large uteri
NCT ID NCT05884658
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares a new surgical technique called vNOTES (scarless vaginal surgery using a tiny camera) to standard laparoscopic hysterectomy in 200 women with large uteri (over 280 grams). The goal is to see if vNOTES reduces complications like infections, bleeding, or organ injury within 6 weeks after surgery. Participants are women over 18 needing a hysterectomy for non-cancer reasons. The approach may offer less pain and faster recovery.
