Could vitamin d levels predict ITP treatment success?

NCT ID NCT07146555

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study will measure vitamin D levels in 84 adults newly diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a bleeding disorder. Researchers want to see if vitamin D levels are linked to how well patients respond to first-line steroid therapy. The goal is to gather knowledge, not to test a new treatment.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help doctors understand whether vitamin D levels affect how well ITP patients respond to steroid therapy.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study with no intervention, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may not lead to any change in treatment.
