Can a daily vitamin pill stop COVID?

NCT ID NCT07128069

Summary

This study tested whether taking a higher daily dose of vitamin D (4,000 IU) could prevent COVID-19 infections better than a standard low dose (400 IU). Over 2,000 adults across the United States participated from home, taking their assigned vitamin D dose daily and completing surveys about COVID-19 symptoms and diagnoses for one year. Researchers wanted to see if the higher dose reduced infections and improved outcomes for those who did get sick.
